In cooperation with TILIA Estate – House of Pinots from the Vipava Valley, Kendov Dvorec continues the story of bringing together pinots noirs. On Saturday and Sunday, 19 and 20 October 2019, the first Slovenian festival dedicated to this wine category will take place for the second time in row.

The second edition of the festival will be focused on the creativity in the production of wine in the pinot noir category. Over twenty winemakers from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Hungary and Poland will present themselves at this year’s festival.

“Pinot noir brings together producers and wine lovers around the world. The challenge for the former is how to make the father of white wines into something above-average, sufficiently Burgundian, but still specific. On the other hand, wine lovers enjoy discovering what a producer in a certain region managed to express in a certain vintage year. Any producer in love with this variety knows that everything starts in the vineyard, but also keeps many little secrets that make the adored product they way it is. And this is the very purpose of the whole happening at the Modri – Les Noirs festival – to bring together those in love. Certainly, we are aware that we simply must not give away all the secrets, but we wish the passion for this wine category to shine on both sides. Therefore, you are invited to come to our side with the passion that you feel for pinot noir,” says the initiator of the festival, winemaker and winegrower Matjaž Lemut from TILIA Estate – House of Pinots.
